Springtime Celebrations

April 5, 2024, 10:00 AM

April is officially here! As many of you know, April has always been quite a special month in the extensive history of Bethel. We're proud to share some of our commemorative events with y'all.

Bethel Work Days

We've scheduled a couple more work days to give our wonderful church building the tender loving care it deserves. Now that the weather has warmed up a bit, there are a few issues throughout the church property that need to be fixed before we celebrate our grand 130th anniversary.

Next Saturday, April 13th, we will be meeting at the church around 8AM to fix up the outdoor garden issues as well as tidy up and possibly decorate for our fast approaching 130th anniversary celebration. As these projects will likely take all day, any helping hands will be greatly appreciated.

Also, on Friday, April 19th, a group of us will be meeting at the church to sort through and price the items we've got stored away in preparation for our rummage sale. Speaking of which...

April 12th, 2024 Update:

Hey y'all, we've unfortunately been forced to move our outdoor projects workday to next Saturday, April 20th. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Bethel's Rummage Sale

On Saturday, April 20th, we will finally be hosting our long-awaited rummage sale. As many of you know, we were planning on setting up a "garage sale" for the benefit of the church at the start of 2020, to clear out some old and unneeded stuff we've had sitting in our storage and classrooms. Unfortunately, that never happened as a particularly pesky illness began sweeping its way through the nation, causing shutdowns and social suspensions across the globe. Fast forward to the current day, with renewed interest from our church members, we are finally hosting the rummage sale we had planned all those seemingly-long four years ago.

Please do mark your calendars for April 20th at 8AM! We've got a lot of stuff set aside not just from our collection, but also from many church families' collections as well. As with most spring cleaning sales, who knows what all treasures could be found?

April 14th, 2024 Update:

Due to an unforeseen burst of personal setbacks, we are deciding to postpone the upcoming Rummage Sale to a later date. We will still be having our 130th anniversary celebration on April 28th, but please do keep our church members in your prayers, and we apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you!

130th Anniversary Celebration

Wow, it's quite the miracle that our little church has survived for 130 years. It's also quite the occasion worth celebrating — so as usual, on April 28th at 11AM, we will be throwing our April homecoming, in jubilee of the 130th anniversary of our church's beginnings. This homecoming will be unlike years past however, as we're very proud to announce that former pastor Darrell Hay will be returning to preach a special sermon, as well as a few church families speaking some history and family stories about Bethel. We'll also be having our monthly potluck dinner afterwards. We'd love for everyone to join us as we memorialize this very remarkable milestone in our church's history.
